Dear Parents / Guardians,

As indicated by Dr Wayne W. Dyer in this famous quote, the example we set for our child is critical for their development because, each day, we are modeling behavioral expectations for our child. 

The adage, "Do what I say, not as I do," simply doesn't work when it comes to effective parenting, no matter how often parents might wish it were true.

The example that we set plays a very strong role in determining our child's behavior—this is the reality of the situation and it is generally a good thing.

Children are always watching us. They always want to know how we are going to handle a situation. Whenever we model self-control with our voice or react to a stressful situation with grace, we are teaching our child how to navigate through life's more difficult pathways.

Sometimes parental behaviors can set the stage for emotionally disturbed behavior in a child. For example, a child who sees a parent use verbal or physical aggression to solve a problem is likely to repeat the behavior when playing with friends. 

We are their role models for sure. So, let's be a positive one!

Pool Parties at Second Home Nursery School

With the weather getting warmer, we started having the pool parties every Tuesday at Second Home Nursery School for our little ones. They truly enjoy cooling off in the water, splashing around with bubbles, sprinklers and water toys as they play in the pool together. Playing in water is like playing in a brand new playground where even the simplest activities like clapping your hands or jumping are a whole new sensory experience, which can also help im-prove children’s balance and strength.

Mother’s Day celebration at Second Home Nursery School

We celebrated Mother’s Day at Second Home Nursery School on Monday, 21st March 2016. It was truly a wonderful afternoon with the mothers of our nursery and a celebration of one of the greatest joys of womanhood.

We also received ISO certifications for ISO 9001:2008 & OHSAS 18001:2007 - a momentous milestone for us.

Happy Mother's Day - A message from our Headmistress

We are blessed to be surrounded by all the beautiful and powerful feelings that mothers instill to our existence. We are all products of mother’s love and dedication, and they have helped us become whatever we’ve wanted to be and reach wherever we have wanted to reach until now.

They’ve given us wings to fly, and let us fly far and go beyond the limits of their own world, so that we may conquer our own.

They’ve inspired us to find our way by encouraging and supporting our efforts with unconditional love.

They’ve felt that we deserve the best that life has to offer just because they always see us as special and unique.

They’ve motivated us to disclose our talents and pursue our goals further than we could imagine.
We feel privileged to have been raised by loving hearts and for being instructed by fruitful love, and this is the love we wish to share with our children at Second Home Nursery School.

I’d like to personally thank all the mothers for opening up their hearts to our school community because the love they offer has the power to improve a whole world by raising one generation.

Fire safety training and awareness at Second Home Nursery School

Safety first is safety always! On 29th February 2016, we had evacuation plan training for everyone at Second Home Nursery School courtesy of Al Rasheediah Safety & Security. Staff also attended a session about fire extinguisher types and usage in case of fire. It was an enlightening session and now all of us—kids and grownups—are fully prepared for any kind of emergency.

Besides academics, developing children’s social and emotional skills is a priority at Second Home Nursery School.
